Ms. Jennifer Imken, Principal
I am the PROUD Principal of Oak Meadow Elementary! I am honored to lead and serve alongside such a vibrant, student-centered school. Oak Meadow is well known for its strong sense of belonging, school pride, and unwavering commitment to educating the whole child. The meaningful partnerships among our families, staff, and local supporters are a cornerstone of our success, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen those relationships for years to come.
Prior to joining Oak Meadow, I served as an Assistant Principal in North East ISD for eight years; five years at Northern Hills Elementary and three years at Fox Run Elementary. Before entering school leadership, I was a classroom teacher at Tuscany Heights Elementary and proudly served in the United States Army. Each of these experiences has shaped my core beliefs about education: schools should be the heart of their neighborhoods, maintain high expectations for every learner, and provide meaningful, developmentally appropriate instruction that prepares students for future success. My goal is for every child to reach their fullest potential while developing a lifelong love of learning, supported by caring educators and engaged families.
I am a mother to two incredible children. My daughter, Milanna, graduated from Claudia Taylor Johnson High School in NEISD and is currently pursuing a degree in psychology. My son, Tucker, is 12 years old and entering seventh grade. He is an avid reader, an enthusiastic gamer, and can always be convinced with ice cream or tacos! He truly is my "mini-me" and is kind-hearted, quick to make others smile, and always ready to bring laughter wherever he goes.
When I'm not at school, you'll usually find me spending time with family and friends, grabbing a meal at Whataburger, or cheering on our San Antonio Spurs. Go Spurs Go!
I am truly excited to be a partner with you throughout your child's educational journey. Please know my door is always open, and I look forward to getting to know each of our students and their families here at The Meadow. Together, we will make this another phenomenal year for our Maverick community!

I was Head of School at Buckner Fanning Christian School for 5 years and a classroom teacher for 16 years.I am the proud father of two daughters who graduated from Churchill HS and married for 30 years to Barbra, a teacher in North East ISD.
My passion for education is to help students succeed and feel good about themselves. I want children to know that learning is fun, and it will help them achieve their goals and dreams in the future.
